September 2026 Grants

At its September meeting, the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd Foundation Board approved two grant requests.

The Foundation granted $60,000 to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd to purchase a new grand piano for the sanctuary. This grant was made with the understanding that the Church Council would determine how to fund the balance of the purchase. The new grand piano was needed because the old piano's soundboard was damaged.

The Foundation granted $5,500 to Scout Troop 123 for the “Bundles for the Beloved” initiative led by Ben Prange as part of his Eagle Project. Ben has been engaged at Good Shepherd since childhood, and currently participates in the youth ministry program and volunteers at Sacred Grounds. The project aims to pack 100 care packages for new babies and donate them to North Memorial Hospital in Maple Grove. As Ben said in his grant request, “Each beloved baby born is made in the image of God and deserves adequate care.”

Thank You!

This year, the Foundation has been blessed with legacy, memorial, and special gifts. We are very grateful! These gifts make Foundation grants possible, enhancing and extending Good Shepherd’s ministry and outreach.
